School bus transportation for VICTORY students came in the late twenties. The above photo was taken in 1935 at Stop Nine, Wilsonburg area. It is loaded with future VICTORY HIGH SCHOOL students. The driver was Jim Dennison. Mr. Dennison transported VICTORY kids for over thirty years retiring in 1966. Back then, school buses had their windows on each side covered with iron bars. The main objective was to keep the smaller kids from sticking their heads out the windows. They were removed prior to World War II.
