1919 FOOTBALL

Owing to the school starting late and the coach not having fully  recovered from a broken knee and also arriving when the football season was nearly over, VICTORY did not develop much of a football team.  The Head Coach was G. A. Wallace and his assistant was I. O. Bacastow.  After two weeks practice the team played their first game at West Union and were defeated 24-0.  At the time VICTORY did not have a home football field.  Their home games were played at Coleman Park which was located down below the Hazel Atlas Glass Factory.  The Board of Education purchased land at Gore in 1923 to build the VICTORY Football Field.
